• Ryan Brown

    Ryan BrownRyan Brown helped found Healing the Children Rocky Mountains and is a Facial Plastic Surgeon who practices in Santa Rosa, California (previously in Denver, Colorado). As early as preschool whenever anyone asked what he would be when he grew up, he would quickly respond "A doctor! To help people!" That has been the driving passion in his life- to help others and bring as much healing as possible to them. He has traveled to over 40 countries and performed service and medical mission work as much as possible. He has participated in over 20 medical missions. Ryan is thrilled to now have an organization to help channel the great desire of many volunteers to help bring smiles to the faces of thousands of children through free surgical care. He is married to his beautiful wife Ann who helps him organize missions and he has 2 sons and 2 daughters, with whom he spends as much time as possible. He also enjoys mountain biking, tennis, reading, hiking, and skiing.

  • Ann Brown

    Ann BrownAnn Brown is a former non-profit event planner, turned stay at home mother, who in her spare time handles all logistics for Healing the Children Rocky Mountains. Ann found a passion for helping the children of Central and South America during an alternative spring break trip back in college to Nicaragua. Having no medical background but a huge desire to make a difference in the world, Ann has found a way to put her skills to use for a good cause. Someone has to make sure the team is fed, has a place to sleep, and the paperwork is done! The highlight of each mission for Ann is to be able to work side by side with her husband Ryan to change the lives of so many children. Ann is the mother of four incredible children. In her leisure time Ann enjoys running, swimming, hiking, and being with her family.

  • Tom Ashby

    Richard SchneiderTom Ashby is a Certified Public Accountant. He has extensive experience with publicly-traded companies, both in internal roles and as an external consultant. He currently lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife and five young children. Tom is excited to be associated with the great humanitarian work being done at Healing the Children.

  • Patsy King

    Patsy KingPatsy King, BSN, RN, CNOR, has served as the OR Team Lead since 2013. She brings many years of Operating Room experience and has a passion to serve others that honors her Christian faith. Patsy has been involved in medical missions since 2005, traveling to places as far away as Vietnam. She is currently living in Yuma, Colorado where her family resides and works at the rural hospital in the community. She feels very blessed to be a part of such a giving and dedicated team.

  • Sharlene Oborn

    Sharlene ObornSharlene Oborn has a few great passions in her life. One of them is providing help and support to those who are unable to help themselves. Sharlene is currently employed at Utah Food Bank as Executive Assistant to the Executive Officer Team and primary liaison to the Board of Directors where she works to bring food to hungry and struggling children, seniors and families across the state. She has been with Utah Food Bank since 2009. Previously, Sharlene spent several years as Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank. Sharlene is honored to join HTC Rocky Mountains in its mission to bring critical medical attention to children around the world. She is happily married and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her 5 married children and 17 grandchildren.

  • Luis Montalvan

    Luis MontalvanLuis Montalvan is a Head & Neck surgeon who graduated from San Marcos University in Lima, Peru. He currently lives with his beautiful wife and daughter in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he works as a certified Surgical Assistant. He returns to Lima several months out of the year to practice medicine in his own clinic. He has been on many medical missions to Peru where his skills, contacts, and knowledge of the culture and profession have been invaluable.
