Lima, Peru - November 6-13, 2020
Healing the Children Rocky Mountains will return to Lima, Peru for the eighth time November 6-13, 2020. With the help of all of Peruvian volunteers and partners who have been finding patients in need, we will screen hundreds of children on Sunday, November 8th at Dos de Mayo Hospital in Lima.
We will then perform surgeries and treat patients from November 9-12. We plan on performing over 90 cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries and also hope to perform 30 pediatric eye surgeries such as pediatric cataracts and strabismus surgery. We will continue to give free eye and hearing exams and then distributing eyeglasses and hearing aids free of charge to patients. We will have a dentist to perform dental care and will also have speech therapists to help those cleft children who need speech therapy both for speech and feeding.
